Windsor
Open Space is a small parcel of land in Finchley, North London.
It is part of an area of metropolitan open land, a green chain that stretches
for more than 10 miles from Moat Mount to Hampstead Heath. The Dollis
Brook flows through the area for most of its length with the Brookside
walk along its banks. The whole area is one of borough-wide importance
for wildlife conservation. Friends of Windsor Open Space (FoWOS)
came into being in 1997 at the suggestion of the London Borough of Barnet.
It is a voluntary organisation wholly independent of the Borough.
